The Louvre is the largest museum in the world. This grand palace of art is so enormous that for a day trip you will only be able to see a minute fraction of what it has to offer. It would would take weeks or months to cover most of it, and it's not practical for any sane human. We went inside to see Mona Lisa, and it was a very long walk through corridor after corridor filled with enormous paintings and statues until we finally made it to the famous painting. The main entrance to the museum is underground in the middle of one of the courts. The entrance is covered by the controversial glas pyramid that was built in 1989. The pyramid has 666 panes of glass which are held together with stainless steel nodes and cables. Because of the large scale of the museum, the pictures only show small snapshots of the complex. When the buildings are all around and over your head, the lens is never wide enough :) Dana in front of the Louvre pyramid.
