This wide angle view of Mount Whitney and the surrounding mountain range was taken just outside Lone Pine. You can see Whitney towards the right side of the frame.  At 14,494 feet (4418m), Mount Whitney is the tallest mountain in the continental United States. One of these days I want to stand at the top of the summit to see the sunrise.
