As you can tell from my webpage, I enjoy hiking and photography. The San Francisco Bay Area
is a hiker's paradise because of its close proximity the many mountain ranges as well
as the Pacific Ocean. The different micro climates in this area offer unparalleled
geological and biological diversity, as well as large number of fascinating animal species.
I like it all - everything from the redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains to the
Ponderosa Pines of the high Sierras, the lovely oaks in the foothills of Mount Hamilton
to the desert landscape of the Eastern Sierras. The breathtaking beauty of
Yosemite National Park is only three and a half hours away by car. The options are endless,
end you never run out of hiking trails.
I am currently working as a Field Application Engineer in the Design-for-Test group at Mentor Graphics Corporation's Silicon Valley headquarter. As part of the pre-sales effort I provide consulting solutions for the semiconductor industry. In other words, I help companies address the deep-submicron testability challenges of microchips. In the new age of System-on-Chip designs, VLSI testing and Design-for-Test is an integral part of the microchip design process. As the complexity and performance of these chips continue to double every 18 months, Design-for-Test has become a very challenging and important part of microchip design. The transistor count for today's largest microprocessor, network, and graphic chips exceeds 200 million!
My educational background includes a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. My area of emphasis was Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) design and test. During my last year at UCSB, I worked with Professor Kwang-Ting (Tim) Cheng in the VLSI Testing, Verification and Synthesis Group. The focus of my research was testing of analog and mixed-signal circuit. The title of my thesis was "Characterization of a Pseudo-Random Testing Technique for Analog and Mixed-Signal Built-In-Self-Test."
The highlights of my past include growing up on one of the most beautiful islands in the world -- Halsnøy. This pristine island is often referred to as paradise island, and is hidden between high mountains and fjords at the west coast of Norway.
That's all for now folks!
